Principal's Corner
Dear Parents,
During the month of May, students in third th rough sixth grade will participate in the end of year State CRT (Criterion Based Reference Test) testing. They will be stested in Science, Language Arts, and Math. As you know, testing is a very important part of your child's education. Testing provides useful information for you and your child's teacher. To help students be successful, there are a few things you can do to help make this a good experience for your child. Please encourage your child to do the following before testing:
Attendance - Make sure your child is in school and on time during the testing sessions. Please do not plan any vacations, doctor or dental appointments on test dates. It is important that your child attend all sessions of testing.
Get Plenty of Rest - Whenn children get plenty of rest they are more able to think clearly. See that your child gets a regular amount of sleep before the test and is well rested.
Breakfast - Make sure that your child eats his/her usual breakfast on the day of the test. Hunger can dtract from a good test performance.
Listen - Encourage your child to listen cartefully to all tes ttaking directions given by the teacher and to ask questions about the directions that are unclear.
Do Your Best - Encourage your child to do his/her best.
These suggestions will be helpful to your child's testing success. Thank you for helping us create a positive test taking experience for your child.
Mrs. Egan
