The Purpose of Community Council
Purpose of School Community Council
- To build consistent and effective communication
- To allow parents an opportunity to be actively involved in their children’s education
- To enhance academic excellence at the school and address the needs of students
The school community council also does one fundraiser a year to provide funds to be used at the school for the most pressing needs as decided by the council. The community council also has a say in how the CSIP and Trustland funds from the state are used in the school.

Members present: Jen Atwood, Karen Egan, Deidre Griggs
Items for discussion:
- Happenings Fundraiser – Fundraiser will be arranged for next school year by principal.
- Leader In Me – Leadership Day events were shared with committee members.
- SCC Members 2012-2013 – One application was received by a parent interested in serving on the SCC for next school year. We are still in need of one more parent to participate. Committee members were asked to come up with names of parents that may be willing to serve.
- Meeting Schedule for 2012-2013 – Meeting schedule will be similar to the one from this year.
- Earning for Education (DVD) – Time did not permit the viewing of this DVD. It will be viewed at the next SCC meeting.
- SCC Touch the Future-Time did not permit the viewing of this DVD. It will be viewed at the next SCC meeting.
