JJ Spirit Grams
West Jordan Student Council presents "JJ Spirit Grams". The student council will be sending spirit grams to friends and family on Valentine's Day, February 14th. Get one for your friends and teachers today. All you have to do is bring 25 cents to school, fill out a gram form in your classroom, and then give your quarter and gram form to your teacher. All grams will be delivered by student council members. Proceeds from the grams will be used for a school service learning project.
PTA Board Nominations
Check out the PTA page for nominations for the PTA Board for the 2012-2013 school year. These nominations will be voted on in the general PTA meeting at 10:00 a.m. on March 7th.
Principal's Pride
West Jordan Elementary likes to celebrate some of the leaders in our school each week. Check out the Principal's Corner for the list of our Principal's Pride students for the week.
School Community Council News
The agenda for the School Community Council meeting on February 2nd has been posted on the Community Council Page.
The School Community Council held a meeting this month. Check the Community Council page for the minutes. We also need more parent volunteers for the Community Council. The council helps identify priorities for spending, direct a fundraiser for the school, and give input for safe walking routes etc.
Spring Choir
The Jr. Jag Spring Choir has started rehersals for their spring show. Rehersals are usually Fridays at 7:30 a.m. in the gym. A complete rehersal schedule is in the office. There will be some dress rehersals after school in May. The show will be May 17th at 7:00 p.m. for all parents and family to enjoy. We are looking forward to seeing our talented jags perform.
Kindergarten Registration
It's time to register for Kindergarten! If you have a child who will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2012, that child qualifies for the 2012-2013 school year kindergarten program. Please register by January 9th. Click on the link below to print the registration form and take it into the school office. If you have a neighbor that has a qualifying kindergarten child, please share this information with them. Perspective Kindergarten students will receive information at a later date regarding Kindergarten Orientation and Registration.

We Need You
West Jordan Elementary is working to form a committee that will help search for grants and other funding sources to enhance the instruction at West Jordan Elementary. This committee will consist of both parents and teachers. If you are interested in helping please contact Ellen Smith at ellen.smith@jordan.k12.ut.us
Leader In Me
This year West Jordan Elementary is starting the Leader in Me Program. Students are learning about the seven habits. Check out the Leader In Me page to learn what those seven habits are.
Box Tops Etc.
As always we are still collecting Box Tops for Education, Campbells Soup Labels . We would like to thank all those who collected Milk Caps. That program has been discontinued.
