Program Description
Jordan School District students receiving special education services in grades 9-12 may apply to South Valley School's greenhouse program. For 11/2-2 hours daily, students receive vocational instruction by certified instructors.
South Valley operates a large greenhouse where part-time students learn practically all the phases of the plant growing process. Care is taken to insure that students are not exposed to harmful chemicals. Students spend a portion of their time in the classroom, then apply what they have learned working in the greenhouse producing bedding plants, poinsettias, vegetables and herbs.
