"The cultural arts are happiness. Happiness is drawing, dancing, finger painting. Happiness is modeling with clay, making music or a poem, performing a play."

On behalf of the Oquirrh Elementary PTA we would like to welcome everyone back to school! We are excited for a new year and the many events that are scheduled. We have open positions on the PTA Board and hope that any parents that are interested in volunteering will feel free to contact us by e-mail. We need your help to make our PTA successful. We are able to have one fundraiser every year and this year will mark our second annual FUN RUN on Friday Sept 24th!! Mark your calendars for this important event. This fundraiser will allow every penny to go back into the school. The PTA uses this money for art projects, red ribbon week, maturation programs, mountain man rendezvous and many other events. Check your child’s backpacks for information regarding helping with this event and other PTA sponsored events! Thanks for all that you do to contribute to the success of your child here at Oquirrh! We look forward to a great year!!

Save these items and bring them to school! |
Remember
to keep sending Boxtops for Education, Campbell's Soup labels, and Cream o'Weber milk
lids! Last year we earned over $1700.00 participaing in
these programs! We still recycle printer inkjet and laser cartridges
(turn in cartridges to the office) and paper of all kinds (drop paper off in the recycling dumpster at the south end of the building). And remember the PTA accepts and appreciates
monetary donations throughout the year!

PTA is
the oldest and largest volunteer association in the United
States working exclusively on behalf of children and
youth. The PTA is a strong and vocal political body.
|
It's mission is
threefold: |
*To
support and speak on behalf of children and youth in school,
in the community, and before governmental bodies.
*To assist parents in developing the skills they need to
raise and protect their children, and
*To
encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools
of the nation.
