The purpose of the Motor Development Team (MDT) in public schools is to assist individuals with different abilities to improve their function in the educational environment. This is accomplished by providing intervention strategies based upon the student's IEP goals and/or accommodation needs. The MDT works in collaboration with the student, teacher, school staff, and family to facilitate a fulfilling and successful learning experience. The services provided by the MDT are modified as the development and life cycle needs of the student change.
